The worst wedding guests ever revealed

It is meant to be the happiest day of your life, but as these stories prove, a lot can go wrong on your wedding day.

In a new thread on the anonymous sharing app Whisper, brides and grooms have revealed the shocking ways their weddings have been ruined by their guests.

A sister of the bride who hijacked the reception by revealing she'd eloped the week before, and a mother-in-law who "cried hysterically" when the groom didn't sit next to her were just two of the horror stories shared by exasperated newlyweds.

One bride recalled: "My sister staged her engagement to interrupt the vows at my wedding. She was Maid of Honor.

"She even bought her own ring and threatened to kick her boyfriend out if he didn't do it."

One brave confession came from a woman who revealed it was she who had ruined a wedding by confessing her love to the groom.

She explained that it did not end well: "I interrupted my friend's wedding to declare my love I had felt for him in years.

"I told him how I felt for him in front of his whole family, friends and girlfriend. He did not feel the same way for me..."

In another unfortunate tale said: "Last May was my sister wedding. During the wedding pictures I got a bloody nose that ruined my bridesmaids dress, then I sprained my ankle in the 6 inch heels. She is still mad at me for ruining her special day".
