Taylor Swift’s ‘top secret’ Madison Square Garden wedding plans revealed

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly preparing for a two-day wedding celebration at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The 36-year-old singer-songwriter and her Kansas City Chiefs tight end partner, also 36, have been together since the summer of 2023 and, according to reports cited by Page Six and The New York Times, are now expected to marry over the July 3 weekend, with the couple said to be planning an intimate ceremony followed by a much larger gathering over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The reports claim the couple have chosen Madison Square Garden as the venue for the celebrations, with an initial event attended by around 100 close family members and friends before a larger reception said to include between 1,000 and 2,000 guests.

Neither Taylor nor Travis has publicly confirmed the plans, and representatives for both had not responded to requests for comment, according to Page Six.

The reported planned celebrations come after Taylor concluded her record-breaking Eras Tour, while Travis continues to balance his NFL career with growing media and entertainment projects.

According to The New York Times, the first gathering is expected to take place on 2 July, with a larger celebration planned for the following day.

Page Six, which first reported in April the couple were preparing to marry over the July 3 weekend, has also said the event will take place at the iconic Manhattan venue, where Swift has performed multiple sold-out concerts.

A source told Page Six: "Privacy was of number one importance to them both."

Another insider added: "Everyone's been sworn to secrecy."

According to the publication, invitations were reportedly issued over the phone rather than by traditional mail in an effort to minimise the risk of details being leaked.

Page Six also reported several of Travis' Kansas City Chiefs teammates had reservations at the Marriott Marquis in Midtown around the reported wedding date.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Travis' fellow NFL tight end and Tight End University co-founder George Kittle said he remained uncertain about where the celebrations would ultimately take place.

George added: "I actually asked Travis last night (whether it was at Madison Square Garden) and he laughed at me, so. I'm half expecting there to just be a jumbo jet on a runway and they put us on a plane somewhere."

The reports also claim the couple have taken extensive measures to protect the privacy of the event.

The New York Post reported a permit application submitted by Winick Productions requested temporary street closures around Madison Square Garden and sought permission for a public tent to be erected outside the venue.

Taylor has frequently performed at Madison Square Garden throughout her career, while Travis has become one of the NFL's most recognisable figures through his success with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The singer's catalogue, spanning albums including Fearless, 1989, Folklore and Midnights, alongside the global success of the Eras Tour, has cemented her status as one of the world's biggest recording artists.

Travis, meanwhile, remains a central figure in the Chiefs' recent championship-winning era.
