New research has found that if you spend the night reading a good book, you'll actually be much happier!

Quick Reads and the Centre for Research into Reading, Literature and Society at the University of Liverpool conducted a poll that found reading improves a person's overall happiness.

Two thousand adults were asked questions about their reading habits, with a quarter of them saying that reading made them want to make positive life changes.

41 per cent said reading was a more relaxing way to spend the evening opposed to being out with friends or having a bubble bath. A bubble bath?! THAT'S saying something.

Psychologist Raymond Mar conducted a separate study that found people who read fiction to be more empathetic than those who don't. 

So there you go, old school activities are still totally good for us!
