The pregnant Duchess of Cambridge is in labour as confirmed by the Palace.

@KensingtonRoyal confirmed the news on Twitter tweeting "HRH The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted at 06.00hrs to St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London and is in the early stages of labour."

They followed it with another tweet, "The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge."

Media have gathered outside St. Mary's Hospital in London as they anticipate news on the arrival of baby #2 for William & Kate.

Security has been beefed up at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital. There are "exhaustive" security checks anytime members of the royal family gather in a publicly known location.

"It's like a fortress there when a royal is inside," an insider says of the hospital, which is also where Prince George, Prince William, and Prince Harry were born.
