Thirty-eight-year-old Ray Smith, from Grimsby, spent five months taking 148 pictures of his girlfriend with the words ‘will you marry me?’ hidden in the background.

Girlfriend Claire Bramley (33), who is now eight months pregnant, happily posed for the shots, assuming he was documenting the pregnancy, without noticing the hidden message!

‘I had no clue, I was totally oblivious to it all,’ said Claire. He told me he was taking the pictures to create memories for the baby so I just let him get on with it.’

'I said yes straight away, I didn’t need to think about it. I got a bit emotional but I am pregnant after all.’
