2/7 According to www.hauntedauckland.com, there have been many reports of ghostly occurrences at the site such as unexplained footsteps, disembodied faces, doors opening and closing on their own, and the ghost of a murderer on the anniversary of his execution. In 2011, Ghost Hunters International spent four days filming at the old prison and “were not disappointed”.

7/7 Carlile House at 84 Richmond Rd, Grey Lynn, Auckland was built in 1886 and formerly known as The Costley Training Institution for Orphans. The tortured souls of the children are fabled to still stalk the corridors... but the building itself is creepy enough!
