Sometimes there's nothing better than ordering a big icy Coke with your Big Mac and fries.

Because, let's face it, McDonald's Coke just tastes so damn good.

And apparently there's FIVE unique factors which contributes to it tasting so much better.

According to Spoon University, these five factors are:

  • The way it's transported
  • The way it's filtered
  • The temperature it's kept at
  • What they do to the syrup
  • And how they serve it.

Who knew McD's put so much thought into a simple serving of Coke?

Rather than having their Coca Cola delivered in plastic bags, Macca's reportedly prefers to have it travel in stainless steel containers. Apparently, this helps preserve the ingredients better, resulting in a fresher taste.

As well as that, McDonald's is known for filtering their water.

The fast food giant also takes great care and consideration when it comes to the temperature they store their fizzy drinks at.

Spoon University explained that "the water runs through a tube constantly in order to maintain a temperature just above freezing. The cold temperature is essential for achieving peak C02 levels. This not only ensures the crisp, bubbly taste of your Coke, but also means that the carbonation will last longer than other restaurants."

The syrup used to blend with the filtered water is also cooled to be at a low temperature.

And that leaves one final piece to the perfect McDonald's Coke puzzle.

Which is the straw.

Macca's straws are wider than most other establishments'. This, according to their website, is "so all that Coke taste can hit all your taste buds".

We bet you're craving a large McD's Coke right now, aren't you?!
