Often people are sceptical about shows like Survivor. Are the contestants REALLY fending for themselves in the wilderness? Or is there a little luxury off-screen?

Well, The Hits Wild Card contestant, Kaysha has set the record straight.

Talking to Estelle, she revealed that being on Survivor NZ: Thailand was not what she expected.

"It was rugged," she said, "I expected there to be like, a port-a-loo hidden in the back, maybe like a bar of soap somewhere, there was nothing."

"We had to, you know ... go to the toilet in the bush, we didn't have toilet paper. Nothing was easy, it was hard."

Estelle joked that at least she had now probably perfected the 'bush pee', to which Kaysha replied: "Oh yep. My squats down packed".

Good on ya, Kaysha!

Survivor NZ: Thailand airs this Sunday, April 22 at 7pm on TVNZ 2.
