Following last year’s top-rating special, Gloriavale: A World Apart, this second installment catches up with Paul Valor, his wife Pearl, and their growing family.

At this fundamental Christian community on the West Coast, all babies are seen as gifts from God and He’s been generous to the Valor Family this year.

Every year the community welcomes between 30 to 40 babies, and most are delivered on site by their own fully trained midwives.

There’s very little residents here can’t do themselves – from building a school, making their own clothes and furniture, to educating their children or holding a village fair.

So when one of the oldest members passes away - it’s only natural they’ll give him a DIY funeral.    

Rules are everything at Gloriavale. Children obey their parents and wives live in subjection to their husbands. Leaders make all the decisions and no one earns a dime.
