Former Home and Away star Bonnie Sveen has given birth to identical twins!

The Aussie actress welcomed daughters, Myrtle and Emerald, last month at Tasmania's Royal Hobart Hospital.

The 29-year-old - who is best known for playing the popular Ricky Sharpe on the Aussie soap - was originally given an October due date, but gave birth to the babies one month earlier.

Bonnie and her partner, assistant director Nathan Gooley, announced the pregnancy in August, revealing they were waiting until the birth to find out the sexes of the babies.

"I'm 30 weeks pregnant now and I'm due in about six weeks, so the first week of October," she told New Idea magazine.

The couple, who have been dating since 2014 after meeting on the set of Home and Away, also revealed they plan to get married "down the line".

"We're not engaged but that'll be delightful down the line. We'll have two ring bearers or flower girls!" she said at the time.

Bonnie added that with twins on the way, the pair would not be looking to have any more children any time soon.

"Let's look at the 5-10 year life plan and maybe somewhere in that gap, we might. But for now, two is pretty great," she said.
