Heidi Montag gave birth surrounded by $27,000 worth of crystals.

The Hills star and her husband Spencer Pratt splashed out on the impressive amount of crystals - which they have long believed represents spiritual protection and health - when they welcomed their first son, Gunner Stone, into the world.

Taking to Twitter, Spencer wrote: "Shout out @crystalarium1 for dropping off $27,000 in crystals for the birth (sic)"

And Crystalarium in West Hollywood, who supplied the crystals, tweeted from their own account: "Congrats to @heidimontag and @spencerpratt on their new arrival!

"Sending love and blessings! We can't wait to meet Gunner Stone! ...  We were honored to be a part of the birth! And we're super excited for your awesome family!! (sic)"

Heidi had previously revealed why her husband Spencer wanted to have crystals in the delivery room when they welcomed their first child.

She shared: "Spencer wants me to have crystals in the birthing room. They represent spiritual protection, health and a higher realm of love."

The crystals were also present at the couple's baby shower and the couple couldn't believe how lucky they were to get pregnant so quickly.

She added: "That we're even having a kid and that we got pregnant the first month trying and that Spencer and I are at this point in our lives ... it just felt like a really heaven sent thing."

Gunner was born at 3:06 pm and weighed six pounds, 12 ounces and measured 19 inches long.

Speaking about the birth, Heidi shared: "We are so blessed to have a beautiful healthy baby boy. It was the hardest and most rewarding experience."

And Spencer added: "[It's] officially the most lit day of my life."

A representative for the couple also confirmed: "Heidi and Spencer are proud parents of a healthy baby boy as of this afternoon."
