Modern Family star Rico Rodriguez shares heartbreaking tribute to late father

Roy Rodriguez, whose son is Modern Family actor Rico Rodriguez, died last Sunday, March 12.

The 18-year-old ABC sitcom star posted an Instagram photo over the weekend of himself enjoying milkshakes with his father, the Daily Mail reports.

"This has been the toughest week of my life. My Dad was the most kind hearted, loving, hard working, determined, and funny man I have ever known," he wrote.

"He was like a super hero, he had the ability to get the best out of you day in and day out. I'm gonna miss your hugs. I'm gonna miss your advice."

Rico went on: "I'm gonna miss your smile, and I'm gonna miss your laugh. I know you're looking down at us right now giving us the green light to move forward.

"I miss you Daddy. I'll love you forever - Your youngest".

In addition to Rico, who was born in Bryan, the late Roy had three other children - sons Ray and Roy Jr. and a daughter named Raini who, like Rico, acts.

Roy is also survived by his wife Diane Rodriguez.
