Stan Walker's emotional post 1 year on from life changing stomach removal surgery

It has been a life-changing year for Stan Walker.

The Kiwi singer opened up about how his health struggles have affected his life one year on in an emotional Instagram post.

He revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer and as a result went under the knife to have his stomach removed.

However, it seems his life-saving surgery - which took more than 6 hours - wasn't without complications.

"I was in the operating theatre for over 6 hours, tryna get my fat gut out," Stan wrote alongside photos of him laying in a hospital bed, "A few more procedures, a collapsed lung, almost dying a few times, a lot of complications, another major operation and a lot of spewing later here I am ..."

"I'm actually at my best now," he continued, "I'm a blessed man ... All jokes and laughs aside, to get to where I am now was actually the hardest thing."
