The top royal style icon of 2018 has been revealed - and it's not Meghan Markle

Although she has been right in the limelight since marrying Prince Harry and has shown off her flair for style, again and again, Meghan Markle did not top the list of the most influential royal fashion icon.

That honour goes to none other than the Duchess of Cambridge.

According to eBay’s annual UK Retail Report, it was Kate, not her new sister-in-law who made the biggest impact on shopper’s spending habits.

Kate’s impeccable taste in maternity wear, while the royal was pregnant with Prince Louis, seemed to inspire others seeking out her looks.

The mother of three’s top fashion picks Jenny Packham, Alexander McQueen and Seraphine all spiked 20 per cent in their year-on-year searches.

However, Meghan – who has made boatneck necklines her signature style – did come in at a close second.

Following the Duchess of Sussex in on the top five was Princess Charlotte, her brother Prince George and then, of course, The Queen herself.
