We get it, choosing a name can be difficult!

Your partner might like the name Kate but maybe you had some issues with a Kate back in school.

Or, you like Jack ... but that's not going to happen either.

So, you finally agree on a name because you heard it while on an overseas holiday and it sounded so unique and exotic.

BUUUUUUT you can't actually pronounce the name, so you've given your baby a name that sounds, well, ridiculous.

Welcome to the life of one American couple.

Carri Kessler had a friend in the U.K who was called Ottilie and she thought it was the most beautiful name she had ever heard.

Naturally, she named her daughter Ottilie.

But Carrie suddenly began to realise that her daughters name no longer sounded as cool with her American accent!

Carrie and her partner had never said the name out loud and were actually struggling to say their own daughter's name.

"No one could remember it and no one could pronounce it... I was like 'if you say it with a British accent, it sounds really good!' And people said, 'But you're from Maryland".

So one thing lead to another aaaaaand that's how the name Ottilie turned into Margot.

Classic!
