90s horror movie 'The Craft' now has a new sequel and it's out in NZ today

Who didn’t love the 90s thriller The Craft starring the likes of Neve-Campbell and Robin Tunney?

Well, now the iconic film about a coven of four teenage witches is getting a 2020 makeover with a sequel, 24 years after the original movie came out.

The Craft: Legacy, is a continuation of the original cult hit and also follows a similar storyline to the original, or a teen moving to a new school who befriends a group of witchy outcasts.

Check out the trailer for the original 1996 movie to refresh your memory:

Written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones, who is known for her work on New Girl and Life in Pieces, stars Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine, with Michelle Monaghan and David Duchovny.

If the terrifying trailer is anything to go by, The Craft: Legacy is set to be just as spooky as the 1996 original!

The film is set to hit cinemas today, October 29, just in time for Halloween!
