Adorable Couple Celebrate Their 70th Wedding Anniversary By Recreating Their Wedding Pics

When Cao Yuehua and Wang Deyi, both 98, reached their 70th wedding anniversary they knew the perfect way to celebrate the impressive landmark – recreating their wedding pictures.

The couple are both originally from Shanghai, but fled to southwest China when World War II broke out.

Despite the fact they were separated for the duration of the war (after Cao was sent to the China-Burma-India Theater to work as a translator), they kept in touch through a series of romantic letters and their love endured.

As soon as Cao returned in 1945, the pair wed, and they’ve been together ever since.

And this week the couple returned to the site of their wedding – Northern Hot Springs Park in Chongqing – to recreate that special moment in front of family and friends.

Following the ceremony, Cao told Xinhua news agency the secret behind their long-lasting romance, saying: ‘Couples need to care for each other. I think of her at anytime, and so does she.’

Meanwhile Wang said to her husband: ‘When we are both 100-years-old, we will come back again, ok?’
