Coldplay concert 'Kiss Cam' sparks viral scandal for tech CEO

Millions watch as a moment of intimacy between two executives ignites affair rumours and online frenzy.
Andy Byron, CEO of New York-based software company Astronomer, found himself at the centre of a social media storm after being caught on the “kiss cam” at a Coldplay concert in Boston. The footage, which quickly went viral on TikTok, shows Byron with his arms around Kristin Cabot, Astronomer’s HR director, as the camera zooms in on them during the show.
As the crowd reacted, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” while Byron and Cabot awkwardly tried to avoid the spotlight- Byron ducking out of view and Cabot turning away to hide her face.
Online sleuths quickly identified the pair, sparking speculation about a possible affair. Both are believed to be married, though this has not been confirmed. The video has racked up millions of views, with commenters weighing in with humour, judgment, and curiosity. One user quipped, “Cost of concert: hotel $200, tickets $600, snacks $150, divorce attorney $50,000.”
A statement has been circulating, supposedly released from CEO Andy Bryon and reads:
"I want to acknowledge the moment that's been circulating online, and the disappointment it's caused.
What was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage. I want to sincerely apologize to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer. You deserve better from me as a partner, as a father, and as a leader.
This is not who I want to be or how I want to represent the company I helped build. I'm taking time to reflect, to take accountability, and to figure out the next steps, personally and professionally. I ask for privacy as I navigate that process.
I also want to express how troubling it is that what should have been a private moment became public without my consent. I respect artists and entertainers, but I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone else's life into a spectacle.
As a friend once sang: 'Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you."
However, although this statement has tickled the internet, it is reportedly fake.
The timing of the incident is notable: Astronomer recently raised $93 million in funding to support global expansion, with Byron publicly touting plans to grow into Europe and Asia. Cabot joined the company in 2024, praised by Byron at the time as a “proven leader” with a passion for building inclusive workplaces.
Astronomer has not issued a public statement regarding the incident.
