Curvy Model Goes Untouched In Campaign To Represent True Definition Of Beauty

The latest edition from American Eagle Outfitters is making a statement. They launched their #AerieREAL campaign – which celebrates women with varying physique, refusing to edit any of the campaign’s photos – features curvy teen model Barbie Ferreira.Â
Jen Foyle, Aerie’s global brand president told Refinery29: ‘We cast Barbie because she’s got nothing to hide, she’s strong and beautiful – she embraces her real self, which is the spirit of the Aerie Real message.’Â
‘Not being re-touched in the images is something that is very important to me,’ Barbie says in the promo video.Â
‘People know that that’s what I look like, without anyone’s perception of what my body needs to look like.’Â
