Arkansas Dad Jesse Newton took to Facebook earlier this week, to describe what happened when the family’s Roomba — a vacuum-cleaner robot — took on a fresh pile of dog poop.

Unfortunately, at around midnight a few nights ago when the family was in bed, their dog pooped on the floor, just before their Roomba was set to do it's automatic house clean at 1.30am.

Newton only became aware of the situation when his 4-yr-old son climbed into their bed at 3am that same night, reeking of faeces.

Naturally, the next thing to do was warn the world about - what he describes as a “poohpocalypse” - via his Facebook page.

The hilarious post quickly went viral, gaining over 320,000 shares.

Included in the post, was a diagram of the Roomba's trail:

As a result of the post, the owner of Boutique Car Shop tells Us Weekly he and his wife have been overwhelmed by the response. “We’re getting a free house cleaning!” Newton says.
