Disney unveiled 'The Lion King' cast and character portraits and they are stunning

It’s been 25 years since we were first introduced to this iconic story... and now the film and its’ beloved characters are being brought to life like never before.

While we've been treated to many sneak peeks of the highly anticipated blockbuster, director of the re-imagined animated classic The Lion King, Jon Favreau, has released these stunning portraits of the star-studded cast facing their animated characters.

The portraits feature Donald Glover facing is character Simba, Beyoncé with Nala, and Chiwetel Ejiofor before the iconic villain, Scar.

Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, and John Oliver face Timon, Pumbaa, and Zazu, while Keegan Michael-Key, Eric Andre, and German actor Florence Kasumba face their hyena counterparts. 

Disney's The Lion King is in cinemas July 17.
