'Full House' star John Stamos leads touching tributes for late co-star Bob Saget

John Stamos has been left "broken" by Bob Saget's death.

The 65-year-old actor was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida on Sunday (09.01.22) at the age of 65 and his friend and Full House co-star is in "complete and utter shock" at the news.

John, 58, tweeted: "I am broken. I am gutted.  I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby."

The pair were also close to fellow Fuller House actor Dave Coulier, and the 62-year-old star shared a similar message.

He tweeted: "My heart is broken. I love you, Bob. Your forever brother, Dave."

Bob's daughter in the show, Candace Cameron Bure, couldn't find the words to express her devastation.

She posted: "I don’t know what to say. I have no words. Bob was one of the best humans beings I’ve ever known in my life. I loved him so much."

Kat Dennings, who appeared with Bob in the early 2000s sitcom Raising Dad hailed her TV father as "the loveliest man".

She tweeted: "Oh god. Bob Saget!!! The loveliest man. I was his TV daughter for one season and he was always so kind and protective. So so sorry for his family."

Other stars remembered Bob for his contribution to the stand-up comedy world.

Steve Martin posted: "Sad day for comedy world."

Henry Winkler wrote: "BOB... It was great to know you … Oh are you going to make God blush."

Many of Bob's famous friends told of what a "kind" and nice person the How I Met Your Mother narrator was.

Parent Trap star Elaine Hendrix tweeted: "Very sad news to hear about @bobsaget. We actually dated back in the day. He was a nice guy & one of the funniest people I have ever seen on stage. A true comedy giant. #RIPBobSaget.”

Andy Cohen added: "He had the biggest heart and wore it on his sleeve. He was so generous with his feelings. A mensch. #BobSaget.”

Amy Schumer tweeted: "Bob Saget was really kind. Fun to be around and loved comics more than anyone. I’m donating to @srfcure a charity very close to his heart. Also ‘Dirty Work’ is one of my all-time favourite movies. Directed by Bob."

Josh Gad posted: "There wasn’t a kinder person in Hollywood than Bob Saget. I am having trouble wrapping my head around this. I do not want to believe this. It’s all too much to handle."

27-year-old comedian Pete Davidson  - who is open about being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder - wrote on Twitter: "Bob Saget was one of the nicest men on the planet. When I was younger and several times throughout our friendship he helped me get through some rough mental health stuff.

"He stayed on the phone with my mom for hours trying to help in anyway he can - connecting us with doctors and new things we can try. He would check in on me and make sure I was okay."

Fellow comic Dane Cook, 49,  also paid his respects, writing: "I'm confused and sad here... I just spoke with him a couple days ago and we just had the most beautiful podcast chat over the holidays. I loved him. I can not believe this."

Joel McHale, 50,  also expressed his sadness and offered his condolences to Bob’s family.

The Community star said in a statement: "I'm so shocked at @bobsaget's passing. One of the most kind & thoughtful people I've ever come across & he just happened to be one of the funniest on the planet. I will miss you so much Bob. Love you dear friend. I'm so sorry @kellyrizzo. And so sorry to the rest of the family."

Norman Lear also paid tribute to the How I Met Your Mother' star.

The 99-year-old legendary television producer said: "Bob Saget was as lovely a human as he was funny. And to my mind, he was hilarious. We were close friends and I could not have loved him more.”

Ben Stiller, 56, hailed Bob "an incredibly kind and funny person".

Chelsea Handler paid her respects on Twitter: "Bob Saget was the kindest, warmest male comic there was. I loved it whenever I saw him, or heard from him. He was the guy that everyone loved. Love you, Bob Saget. You will be missed and loved for a long time.”

The 66-year-old stand-up comic wrote: "Still in shock. I just spoke with Bob a few days ago. We stayed on the phone as usual making each other laugh. RIP to friend, comedian & fellow Aristocrat Bob Saget."

Meanwhile, Bob Saget's family want people to remember the "love and laughter" he "brought to the world".

His loved ones, including wife Kelly Rizzo and children Aubrey, 34, Lara, 32, and 29-year-old Jennifer - who he had with ex-wife Sharri Kramer - broke their silence on his shock passing.

They said in a statement to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today.  He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter.

"Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world."

Police confirmed on Sunday (09.01.22) evening they had found Bob - who was on tour with his stand-up comedy show - unresponsive on arrival to the hotel.

They said in a statement: "On 1/9/2022, just after 4 p.m., deputies responded to the 4000 block of Central Florida Parkway (Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes) in response to a man down call.

"On arrival, they located a man who was unresponsive in a hotel room. The man, identified as Robert Lane Saget, was pronounced deceased on scene. We have no information on the cause of death, and detectives have found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case."

The cause of death is yet to be determined and police "do not anticipate" that further information will be given at this time.

The statement continued: "This is all the information we have for release at this time and we do not anticipate further updates. The Medical Examiner's Office will ultimately determine cause and manner of death."
