People have been asking the question of how Facebook determines the nine top friends that are displayed on the left hand side of our profiles.
It doesn't necessarily mean that those people are stalking you! They actually appear there because of 12 factors.
Facebook takes into account interactions with certain people, along with profile views, mutual activity, tagged photos, wall posts, likes, comments, viewed photos, private messages, online friends, friends you've added to the 'close friends' group and group chats.
This algorithm basically keeps changing your top friends, so it may include someone you've recently been messaging, someone who's just liked the same post as you or someone who's just simply online.
If you're unhappy with who is appearing as your top friends there's not much you can do other than refresh the page and hope for the best or constantly bombard your friends with messages and likes in an attempt to get someone out of those nine friends!
