Kiwi icon Suzy Cato returns to TV to help educate kids during lockdown again

Kia ora, talofa - it's your time (again) with Suzy Cato.

The famous TV face and voice that greeted hundreds of thousands of New Zealand schoolchildren in the 1990s and early 2000s is back - this time to help educate locked-down Kiwi kids.

Suzy Cato - whose trademark 'Hello, g'day, kei te pēhea koe?' will be well-known to a generation - return to the educational television channels Home Learning TV |Papa Kāinga TV, being brought back by Ministry of Education and TVNZ.

Featuring educational lessons and entertaining content suitable for children, the channel will offer learning support for families based at home from Wednesday 25 August.

Home Learning TV |Papa Kāinga TV will take over TVNZ’s DUKE +1 daytime schedule from 9am – 1pm.  Viewers will enjoy sessions from Suzy Cato, Karen O’Leary, amazing local teachers and more. At 1pm, DUKE's regular +1 programming will resume. 

DUKE +1 is available on Freeview channel 18 and Sky channel 504. Over 400 lessons and pieces of content will also be available for catch up viewing on TVNZ OnDemand via the Home Learning page for those who would like to pick and choose which lessons they watch.

The Kiwi kids educational channel featuring Suzy Cato will air on TVNZ2 +1, on Freeview 7, TVNZ OnDemand and Sky 502 from Wednesday 25 August.
