McDonalds Releases Strangest Menu Item Yet

Fans will either love or hate McDonald's latest menu item - chocolate covered fries.

The fast food giant has announced the McChoco Potato will hit participating stores in Japan on January 26 so NZ fans will have to be prepared to travel to try them.

The dish will be drenched in both cacao-flavored chocolate and white milk chocolate for a combination that "creates wonderful salty and sweet harmonious taste," the fast food giant said.

This isn't the first time McDonald's Japan has dressed up its side dish.

In previous years they offered the "Shaka Shaka Potato" topped with cheese sauce, bacon or both.
