The Urban List has revealed there’s a new CHEESE food truck in Auckland and we are SO excited.

That’s right, folks. Melted raclette cheese has made its way to Auckland and it’s being served in a glorious fashion out of a bright red food truck by the name of Melt.

If you’re a bit behind with food trends, racelette is a type of cheese that originates in Switzerland. The cheese usually comes in a massive wheel and is heated until it becomes delightfully melty.

The oozy cheese is then scraped off and served with the likes of potatoes, gherkins and pickled onions.

YUM, OUR TUMMIES ARE RUMBLING!

Husband and wife duo Jay and Claudine Avante are giving Auckland a taste of the deliciousness with their brand-spanking new food truck, Melt.

The friendly folk are regulars at Auckland Night Markets but have plans to take over the city, one festival at a time. Their recent appearance at Street Eats festival saw them whipping up cheese goodness for the masses all day long.

Melt dish up a range of cheese-laden dishes including fried potatoes with gherkins, pearl onions and bacon.

They’re also mixing things up with a meatball sub and our personal favourite: cheese steak. The dish stars a juicy cut of sirloin steak that’s accompanied with gravy and—of course—cheese. Be sure to have napkins at the ready because it’s literally oozing with cheese, sauce and all things tasty. #Foodporn, much?

But it’s not just any old cheese, Melt searched the country far and wide to find best cheese possible. They’ve settled on a Manuka smoked cheddar that boasts a nutty, bacon taste—and yes, it’s amazing as it sounds.

Hunt down Melt at your nearest Night Market and keep an eye out for them at festivals and markets across town. You can keep up with them on Facebook or Instagram, too.

Cheers for bringing the people what they want, Melt. You’re on to a good thing.
