A new quiz has been going viral on Facebook over the past couple of weeks, offering to spout out a collection of the words you use the most on the site - and if you haven't done it yet, you may want to read this first. Â
The quiz was created by a company called Vonvon.me and makes you sign up to a separate app to take the quiz, using your Facebook login details.
This gives the company access to your name, profile pic, age, sex, birthday, any other details you've got on Facebook AND ALL OF YOUR STATUS UPDATES AND PAGES YOU LIKE.
Sure, it's not the first time that's happened, but if you try and limit the app's access before syncing the app with Facebook, you're not allowed to play the quiz. Â
The privacy policy says your details can be stored on servers in 'many countries around the world' and Vonvon is free to sell your details to anybody for a profit. Â
It claims you have given it permission to do so by reading its privacy policy.
Even further than that, once your details have been passed on to third parties, you are no longer covered by the privacy policy, so those companies can do whatever they want with it.
So far, 17.5 million people have taken the quiz - if you're one of them, don't panic, but you may want to avoid any apps that need your Facebook login next time!
