Rebel Wilson is giving her fans some serious fitness inspiration.

The actress has undergone a lifestyle transformation as part of her "year of health", and declared to her social media followers that she is "proud" of her progress.

"Happy Sunday everyone! Gearing up for a great week ahead," she wrote on her Instagram account recently.

"This week was super busy but I got up super early 3 times (6am) and went on a hike … even did a couple of 100m sprints to get the heart rate even higher (although my 'sprint' is probably someone else's 'slow jog').

"But I felt proud of myself and now only 3kg away from my goal weight! Rebs x".

The 40-year-old rose to stardom when she starred in the Pitch Perfect franchise, playing a character nicknamed "Fat Amy" - and now she wants to be known by a new name.

Wilson shared her goal weight with her fans earlier this year. In May, she took to Instagram and said: "I'll be honest with you guys - with my 'Year of Health' mission I'm trying to get to 75kg and career-wise am trying to get one of my movies into production before the end of the year! Both of these things are requiring a daily effort and there's constant setbacks - but I'm working hard x."

The actress also announced today she has started work on her first children's book series.

The book series for Australia and New Zealand kids called Bella the Brave is set for release in 2021, and is aimed at children aged 3 and up.
