Robert Irwin proves he’s just like his dad Steve Irwin in shocking snake bite video

It’s no secret that Robert Irwin is growing up to be just like his late father Steve Irwin.

A new video shared by the 16-year-old shows exactly how much he is following in his father’s footsteps.

Taking to Instagram Robert shared a video of him getting bitten on the face by a snake in a clip from Crickey! It’s the Irwins … and it’s not for the faint of heart!

"Wait for it," Rob captioned the video. "After a snake rescue with this cheeky carpet python while filming for Crikey! It’s the Irwins it brought back fun memories of a very similar situation that happened decades before in one of the original crocodile hunter documentaries!"

"Maybe it was her way of saying 'thanks' for being rescued!"

As well as the shocking clip was a side by side snap, featuring an old photo of Steve after getting bitten by a snake himself, and a new photo of Rob showing the after math of his bite.

Eep!

This isn’t the first time Robert has been compared to his father in this way.

Earlier this year Terri Irwin shared a sweet post about her son and late husband.

"Remembering how much Robert loved being with Steve, parked at home pretending to drive," she wrote on Twitter.

"I know Steve would be incredibly proud, now that Robert has his L plates, and is driving Steve’s old ute."

Along with the tribute, Terri shared a lovely throwback photo of a Robert when he was a child, on Steve's lap inside the ute.

Next to it she also shared a photo of Robert now 16 years old leaning against the same white ute.

In July last year, Robert shared a picture of he and the Australian zookeeper - who passed away at the age of 44 in 2006 - feeding the same crocodile 15 years apart.

Robert captioned the Instagram post: "Dad and me feeding Murray... same place, same croc - two photos 15 years apart.”
