Ed Sheeran and Khalid's 'Beautiful People' music video pokes fun at fame in the most relatable way

Ed Sheeran has unveiled the music video for his latest song Beautiful People featuring Khalid.

The clip shows an "average" couple on holiday and feeling rather out of place surrounded by "beautiful people" that you might normally see dancing in a flashy music video or posing in bikinis on Instagram. It also shows a glimpse of Ed himself riding in a Hummer.

Speaking to NME about teaming up with Khalid for the song, Ed said: "Khalid’s got an undeniable, soulful voice and I knew he would be perfect for this track. I think we both connect to the song in the same way, and I’m really happy we got to work together."

The track – which appears on the British pop star’s upcoming album No. 6 Collaborations Project – pokes fun at fame and features the lyrics:

"We don't fit in well 'cause we are just ourselves /
I could use some help gettin' out of this conversation, yeah /
You look stunning, dear, so don't ask that question here /
This is my only fear: that we become / Beautiful people"

The video – which has earned more than 9 million views on YouTube - comes after Ed released his collaboration with Justin Bieber on I Don’t Care and with Chance The Rapper for the song Cross Me.

We can't wait to hear more from No. 6 Collaborations Project, which is set to be released on July 12.
