Watch: Simon Cowell Shows Softer Side After 2-yr-old Son Surprises Him Backstage

It's not often we get to see the softer side of Simon Cowell, but in this cute video we certainly do!

Cowell was surprised by two-year-old son Eric during the latest episode of the X Factor when Lauren Silverman brought him in (filmed around the time of the Northern Hemisphere's Father's Day).

Simon was no doubt pleased to see his little one after admitting that he loved having his son around whilst he held the America's Got Talent auditions.

He told People magazine: 'He's brilliant, he comes down to the auditions and really enjoys the acts. He's very good to watch funnily enough, because I can see when he's bored and when he's up dancing. He's a good critic already. He's unpaid but he's helping me!

He added that having children had made him a 'softer' judge, as it had changed the way he views young people on talent shows.

'There's no question when you actually have a kid, it does make you feel different because you understand how you would feel if it was your son up there,' he said.
