A lot of us do it; we avoid touching the seat in any public toilet out of fear for germs (and fair enough!)

But it turns out, hovering over the toilet seat isn't the best idea.

According to urologist Matthew Karlovsky, when you squat over a toilet seat you are causing your muscles to tense up.

They aren’t relaxing as much as they are being forced to release your urine and this can eventually lead to a weakened bladder over time.

AHHH so, how do we fix it?!

You can avoid this bathroom move by placing layers on toilet paper on the seat, and fully sitting down (not a new trick, really).

But you can also take on a full-squat over the toilet bowl. That move is actually proven to relax your muscles much more and make it easier to pee.

Hey, and if you're squatting properly over the toilet every time, think of the muscle gains!
