After the devastating earthquakes across the country this morning, NZQA have released information on how students sitting exams will be affected.

Their website says:

Information for parents and students:

NCEA and New Zealand Scholarship examinations will proceed today if your school has not been earthquake affected.

If it has been affected and is closed, an emergency derived grade process is available to reduce any disadvantage to students.

Information for schools:

If your school is earthquake affected you may:

  • proceed with examinations by starting before 10am today, or
  • contact your School Relationship Manager on their mobile for advice on the emergency derived grade procedure.

Therefore, it is best to check with your school as to whether your exams will be affected.
