A 'selfie statue' has been erected in Sigar Land, Texas and locals are infuriated.

The bronze statue was donated by local artist Sandy Levin as one part of a 10-piece sculpture collection.

It's unclear whether the status is meant to be serious, cynical or satirical however residents are struggling to see any good in it!

However Sugar land have stood by the decision to erect the statue: “The donated statues are intended to depict activities common in the plaza and parks where they are installed,” city spokesman Doug Adolph told ABC News.
