This Comedian Recreates Celebrity Instagrams And It's Hilarious

Australian comedian Celeste Barber has had it up to here with celebrities and their "real-life" selfies. So, naturally, she turned to comedy to skewer the trend.

Barber has started posting parodies of celebrity Instragram photos, along with the hashtag #celestechallengeaccepted. Barber unabashedly mocks the "unposed" snapshots of Miranda Kerr eating junk food, and Gisele Bündchen flipping her hair. By recreating the photos with a sardonically raised eyebrow, Barber points out the absurdity of the world's obsession with celebrity.

"People take it all too seriously, they have such an obsession with celebrities, the rich, the privileged and all these life-style blogger [sic] but yet the celebrities think they are doing normal things," Barber tells Daily Mail Australia. "Kim Kardashian posing in a pile of dirt - who does that in real life?"

Barber claims that by making light of these photos, which take themselves so seriously, it's more empowering for other women out there.

"Really I am turning the mirror back on the celebrities as I am very pro-woman and I get frustrated when people say you should be or act a certain way."
