Rami Malek looks totally different in this throwback photo!

He has currently got one of the most recognisable faces on the planet, but this throwback photo of Rami Malek has left fans doing a doubletake.

The OC star Rachel Bilson recently took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of herself with the Bohemian Rhapsody actor back in the day, and he seriously doesn't even look like himself!

Rami, whose portrayal of Queen legend Freddie Mercury has earned him international stardom, can be seen sporting a gold chain and a head full of hair gel Bilson captioned the snap: "Hey @ramimalek where'd you get that gold chain? #tbt #oscarworthy #dontforgetthelittlepeople".

The 37-year-old Oscar-nominee's look is a world away from the usual slick, chiselled Malek of today.

Instagram users took to the comments to voice their disbelief.
