Let's be honest, we're all guilty of having our phones with us on the toilet... right? Okay, it might just be us.

But research has come about, which shows that when we use our phones in the toilet, it up to germs like salmonella, E. Coli and C. Difficile (just think about where your hand has been while your tapping and swiping).

"Be aware of what your hands are touching. If you wipe your bum then pick up your phone, you may as well not bother washing your hands because all the bacteria you put on your phone will end up back on your hands. They might be your germs. They might be somebody else's from the flush," hygiene expert Dr Lisa Ackerley told Metro.

So basically, we really need to stop taking our phones to the toilet with us.

Our trips to the loo are going to be a lot less interesting.
