First trailer for highly anticipated 'Wicked' movie starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo is out!

Brace yourself, musical fans! The highly anticipated trailer for the cinematic adaptation of the iconic Broadway musical Wicked has been released!

Two decades after the beloved stage show first hit Broadway, Wicked continues to capture the hearts of many with its tale of self-discovery, friendship, and courage.

Starring powerhouse performers Grammy and Tony-award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Grammy-winning superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda, Wicked tells the story of what happened before the events of The Wizard Of Oz and exactly how the Wicked Witch of The West became so Wicked.

The movie also stars Michelle Yeoh as Shiz University’s regal headmistress Madame Morrible; Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Fellow Travelers) as Fiyero, a roguish and carefree prince; Tony nominee Ethan Slater (Broadway’s Spongebob Squarepants, Fosse/Verdon) as Boq, an altruistic Munchkin student; Marissa Bode in her feature-film debut as Nessarose, Elphaba’s favored sister; and pop culture icon Jeff Goldblum as the legendary Wizard of Oz.

The trailer shows Cynthia and Ariana singing two of Wicked's biggest hits - Defying Gravity and Popular - as the pair meet for the first time as roommates at Shiz University.

While Wicked was initially expected to be one movie, Director Jon M. Chu shared in 2022 that it was split into two after it became "clear that it would be impossible to wrestle the story of 'Wicked' into a single film without doing some real damage to it."

The beloved stage musical makes its journey to the big screen in two parts. Part one is set to hit theatres this November and part two in November 2025.
