We're hoping this is a mistake but a recent study from Psychology Today suggests that your dog is not only getting stressed out form hugging it but it actually hates it!

The study says that physically smothering and immobilizing our four-legged friends with our love actually raises their anxiety and stress levels. You're basically trapping your dog and their animal instinct is going insane.

To prove this theory, pictures of dogs were collected from around the internet. In each photo, the dogs are showing signs of stress such as avoiding eye contact and dropped ears. This was the case in 81.6 percent of the photos.

So the lesson to take away is to stop hugging your dog. It's sounds rough but they really don't like it. Give them a head pat, a treat, or a good belly rub.
