Despite the new 'Reactions' tool providing us with a plethora of options on Facebook now, people are still scratching their heads as to why there was no 'dislike' button added.

Turns out, a dislike button would be too boring.

Mark Zuckerberg has revealed why in a recent announcement, writing "Not every moment you want to share is happy.

"Sometimes you want to share something sad or frustrating. Our community has been asking for a dislike button for years, but not because people want to tell friends they don't like their posts.

"People wanted to express empathy and make it comfortable to share a wider range of emotions."

Facebook representatives have concurred with the choice, saying a dislike button would be used to bully or upset people.

We agree that is a very good point!
