Messenger has a game?!

Yes, the game is chess.

To begin the game, one of you have to type '@fbchess play', and this will bring up a chess board. The other person that you've started the game with will be granted the first move. To make a move you type in specific commands for each piece. Every time a move is made, an update of the board will appear in the message thread.

A letter represents each piece. P = pawn, R = rook/castle, N = knight, B = bishop, K = King and Q = queen.

To make moves, you have to type @fbchess, the letter for the piece you want to play, and then the number and letter of the square you want to move to. For example, to move a pawn that is currently on G2, to G4 you  would type '@fbchess Pg4'.

If you're not to flash at playing chess then you can get some tips by entering '@fbchess help'.

Have fun wasting more time on Facebook!
