Weddings and traditions go hand in hand.

In fact, some wedding traditions have been around for so long we just follow them without actually knowing the reasoning behind it.

For as long as we can remember, brides have walked down the aisle with a beautiful bouquet as an accessory.

But surprisingly, the flowers aren't just there to look pretty.

Apparently these are the six physical traits men find most attractive in women
This bride's request for one of her bridesmaids is outrageous!

Apparently, bridal bouquets originated in the 15th and 16th centuries because of their scent.

You see, people didn't bathe as frequently as we do today ... and when we say not frequently, we mean once a year.

So brides would carry a bouquet of fresh flowers in an attempt to cover up any body odour.

Additionally, some brides would choose to carry strong-smelling herbs and spices, such as garlic, to ward off evil spirits.

How romantic.
