Woman Faces Year Behind Bars For Tagging Sister-In-Law On Facebook

A New York woman now faces a year in jail for violating a protection order by tagging her ex-siser-in-law in a post calling her "stupid."

Maria Gonzalez was under a protection order and was not meant to contact Maribel Calderon, according to the New York Law Journal, however Facebook still counts as communication! 

The alleged post read: "You and your family are sad You guys have to come stronger than that!! Im way over you guys but I guess not in ya agenda."

Westchester County Supreme Court Justice Susan Capeci wrote:  "The order of protection prohibited the defendant from contacting the protected party by electronic or any other means."

She has been charged with second-degree criminal contempt for the alleged post and may face a year behind bars.
