YouGov has revealed that the youngest sibling are the funniest.

The research also revealed that the eldest child in the family feels a greater weight of responsibility, which could make sense since they’re setting the example for the rest of us; right?

Differences in character due to the order of birth is often speculated, you’ve probably heard of middle child syndrome and that the youngest is the most spoilt? Well, this study shows that the order of birth and character differences do have some correlation.

‘Splitting out the first and last born siblings in British families with more than one child (86 per cent of the population), a clear divide in personality traits emerges,’ a section of the study reads.

According to the study, the most significant difference is in feeling the burden of responsibility – 54 per cent of first borns say they are more responsible than their siblings, compared to 31 per cent of last borns. Whereas younger siblings are more likely to say they are more funny, more easy going and relaxed.
