Jono finally reveals the story he never got to tell on 'The Graham Norton Show’s Red Chair

It was a moment years in the making, a story left untold.

But finally, on the Burner Phone podcast, Jono had the chance to reveal the missing piece from his appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

Thanks to Hamish, a Kiwi living in Australia, who called in to request the completion of Jono's red chair story. Was it worth the wait? Yes!

Jono and Ben were thrilled to have an international caller and quickly obliged Hamish's request. Amidst banter, they dove into the long-awaited tale.

For those unfamiliar with the red chair segment where guests attempt to share their stories with Graham Norton and his celebrity guests before one of them decides to flip the chair and send them off.

Jono and Ben had their turn, but fate played a trick on Jono. As he sat in the red chair, Seth MacFarlane, the creative genius behind Family Guy, pulled the lever, flipping Jono before he could even utter a word. Jono's story was left hanging, waiting for the right moment.

During the podcast, Jono confessed that he actually didn't have a story at the time. So, he had turned to his trusty co-host, Ben, and borrowed a gem from his repertoire.

Ben's story involved a heartfelt speech at a friend’s 21st birthday party, where a mother proudly showcased a locket containing her son's photo. But here's the kicker: on the other side of the locket was his preserved foreskin, a memento from when he was circumcised as a baby.

Hilarious!

But what about that infamous red chair flip itself? Jono and Ben shed light on the backstage mechanics. Contrary to appearances, the flip wasn't exactly as it seemed on television.

Jono revealed, "The producers say, 'Listen, the flipping's not as violent as it appears on TV, so you actually have to kick your legs up so it looks like you've been thrust back at a high rate.'"

Who would have thought?!

So, there you have it—the missing piece of Jono's red chair story unveiled on the Burner Phone podcast at last.
