Bachelorette Lily McManus has made it clear that she doesn't think highly of The Bachelor NZ's format.

In an interview with Woman's Day alongside the other four remaining bachelorettes, the 20-year-old said it was important not to see their quest for love as a competition.

"Fighting over the attention of one dude will always be a concept I struggle to take seriously," she told the magazine.

"You can’t think of this whole shambles as a competition – Zac isn't a prize to be won. He either likes me or he doesn’t. The other girls aren't going to stand in the way of that."

Lily quickly became a favourite of Zac's as the show progressed, with her quirky humour and hilarious tricks winning the bachelor over.

Her fellow remaining bachelorettes are Viarni, Hannah, Sarah and Claudia.
