Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie is out of hospital

Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter, Maddie Aldridge, was released from the hospital over the weekend.

The eight-year-old was airlifted to hospital last week after an off-road vehicle she was riding flipped, leaving Maddie unconscious and underwater for several minutes.

Taking to Instagram, Jamie Lynn shared a picture of a Children's Hospital of New Orleans helicopter, saying the family was "headed home", where they will continue Maddie's recovery.

Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children's Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover. Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed🙏

Jamie Lynn's mum has also taken to social media to update fans.

'Maddie is doing great and getting better every day,' Lynne, 61, wrote as the caption for a photo with her granddaughter.

I really don't know how to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you who have prayed continuous prayers for Maddie at this very difficult time! Thank you , God bless you and I know that the huge outflow of Prayers created this miracle and has humbled my family and I! Maddie is doing great and getting better everyday!!
