Katherine Heigl gives birth to her first biological baby

Katherine Heigl has given birth to her first biological child, a baby boy.

The actress and her musician husband Josh Kelly welcomed Joshua Bishop Kelly just before Christmas, on December 20, according to People.

The couple are also parents to daughter Nancy, eight, and Adalaide, four. 

In June, Katherine announced her pregnancy in an Instagram post.

"@joshbkelley and I have some news...go to thoseheavenlydays.com and I'll tell you alllllll about it!" she said, as she referred her followers to her blog. 

The star has been giving its readers updates throughout her pregnancy. 

On December 10, the mother-of-three shared a behind-the-scenes look at her baby shower. 

"My mother very graciously threw Josh and I the most beautiful and celebratory baby shower last weekend and I just had to share the details with you," she began.

"She asked me for some direction on the decor and the vibe I was hoping for, so I headed straight to Pinterest to cultivate a look for the shower that spoke to not only the holidays but also our mountain home in Utah where the baby will be born."

"I loved that my mum involved me and that I got to contribute my ideas. I'm kind of a control freak on occasion…ok more often than not, so getting to have a voice when it came to the shower was pretty awesome for me!"

In an interview with In Touch Weekly last September, the former Grey's Anatomy star shared her cravings. 

"I'm just tired and hungry. I'm hungry for doughnuts every day. And if you put a cinnamon roll in front of me, it's going to get ugly," she joked. 

She also said her husband was "hugely relieved" that they are having a son, while their two daughters are "so excited."

"His [Josh] brother had a boy last February, and they’re already talking about their golf foursome," she said.
