After two weeks of being mercilessly hounded by NZ media, Richie McCaw and Gemma Flynn's marriage appears to have miraculously lasted two days (and counting).

We're stoked for them - a day after tying the knot in one of the nation's most-anticipated weddings, rugby royalty Richie and Black Stick Gemma were back at their wedding venue yesterday for the much more relaxed after-function.

However, the newlyweds were still being observed by media yesterday as they arrived together in a car at the Olive Grove in Wanaka and mingled with guests.

Even their casual day-after outfits were under scrutiny, with Richie reportedly "...in shorts and a casual long sleeve white shirt. Flynn gave a nod to her Tauranga roots, sporting a Bohemian-style Love Weave playsuit by Australian designer Camilla Franks from Mount Maunganui boutique Sisters and Co."

NZ Herald reports that "Guests were entertained with live music from a female singer and acoustic guitarist. The sat on grey bean bags and hay bales and crowded around wine barrels. They helped themselves to drinks from glass dispensers on a trestle table and from a caravan bar hired from Wanaka company, The Workroom."

We get it, people are interested in what happened. But does this come at the experience of two normal kiwis' privacy and their quality of life?

Who's to blame - the media, for catering to our curiosity? Or us, for clicking on the articles and proving that there's demand for stories like this?

We wish Richie and Gemma all the best, hopefully things start to settle down for them now!
