Watch Ellen DeGeneres perfectly scare Sam Smith ... twice!

Although Sam Smith says he's not afraid of ghosts, that didn't stop Ellen DeGeneres scaring the living daylights out of him.

During his visiting The Ellen Show, the 25-year-old singer revealed that he lives in a haunted house and has his own way of dealing with the spirits.

"I have a good relationship with the ghost," he told Ellen.

"Sometimes at night I get up and I'm just like 'leave me alone' and they do. I feel like if you talk to it just like 'please I just need to sleep'".

While telling the story Ellen had arranged for a ghostly figure to give the British songwriter a fright - and it was perfect.
